For the last 11 years I have been training at the
Mike Kleir School of Karate in Phoenix Arizona where I am currently ranked
as a San Dan (3rd Degree) black belt in Shuri Ryu. I started my training in
the martial arts in 1976 in Canada and I am ranked in the following systems:
Shotokan – brown belt
Muy Thai
Tae Kwon Do – 2nd degree
Kenpo (Ed Parker) – 1st degree
Shuri Ryu – 3rd degree
Trained with Phil Ross from 1986-1990 where I achieved the rank of 2nd
degree black belt. I have participated in countless seminars thru the
years and have competed in tournaments where I consistently placed in kumite,
kobudo and kata. I placed first in Senior Men’s Kumite in the United States
Karate Alliance World Championships in August 1997 in New Orleans.
